Hola! Mi nombre es Alejandra Oviedo.
Nací en Bogotá, Colombia.
Soy artista visual, mi trabajo se enfoca en dibujar y bordar historias de mi vida cotidiana, lugares, objetos y personas.
Me he sentido muy influenciada por la cultura de mi país, por sus colores, texturas, música, comida y gente.
El bordado me ha dado mucho, me enseñó a tener paciencia, a poder expresarme con hilos, a conocer gente nueva, a meditar y a dedicar tiempo a mi interior.
También me gusta dibujar en la arena y después borrarlo con los pies : )
He tenido la oportunidad de dictar talleres y compartir mi trabajo en diferentes espacios culturales como Casatinta (Bogotá, Colombia), Dudúa (Barcelona, España) y Diriyah Biennale Foundation (Jeddah, Arabia Saudita), Irudika (Vitoria-Gasteiz, España).

Hi! My name is Alejandra Oviedo.
I was born in Bogotá, Colombia.
I am a visual artist, my work is based on drawing and embroidering stories about my daily life, places, objects and people.
I have felt very influenced by the culture of my country, by its colors, textures, music, food and people.
Embroidery has given me a lot, it taught me to be patient, to meet new people, to be able to express myself with threads, to meditate and spend time with inner self.
I also like to draw in the sand and then erase it with my feet : )
I have had the opportunity to teach workshops and share my work in some cultural places such as Casatinta (Bogotá, Colombia), Dudúa (Barcelona, Spain), Diriyah Biennale Foundation (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), and Irudika (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain).
